Immunoffinity columns are used for isolation of Ochratoxin A from samples followed by HPLC or the use of fluorometr. Ochratoxin A is a mycotoxin produced by the fungus Aspergillus ochraceous and also by several species of Penicillium. Ochratoxin A has been known to cause kidney damage in animals and is considered a carcinogen.

Extract Sample

• Grind and weigh sample
• Add PEG and water to sample
• Filter

Dilute and Filter

• Dilute extract
• Filter

Absorb and Elute

• Pass filtrate over OchraTest affinity column
• Wash column with buffer and water
• Elute ochratoxin and collect in cuvette

Measure

• Place cuvette into a calibrated fluorometer, or
• Inject eluate into HPLC
• Determine ochratoxin concentration
