Clean-Up C8 (Octyl) endcapped 100mg/1mL, 100 pkg

This sorbent is composed of a silica backbone bonded with hydrocarbon chains. It is used to extract compounds which exhibit non-polar or neutral characteristics out of complex matrices. C8 is very similar in properties to C18, but is not as retentive for non-polar compounds, due to its shorter hydrocarbon chain, and therefore reduced carbon loading.

General method for column with 100mg of sorbent

Condition

1 mL Methanol

Equilibrate

1 mL DI Water

Load

Pretreated sample

Wash

1 mL 5 % Methanol in DI Water, dry under vacuum for 2–5 min

Elute

1 mL Methanol

Recommended applications:

PCBs, Pesticides, Secondary interactions with polar compounds are more pronounced due to shorter alkyl chains, Similar to C18, slightly more polar.
