Classification, labeling and packaging of substances is noted in CLP Regulation (Classification, PackagingandLabelling of Substances and mixtures). CLP Regulation was adopted by the European Parliament and Councilin December 2008 andcame into forceon 20January 2009.This regulation is based on the experience ofDirectives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC. The regulation aims to unify the criteriafor classification and labeling of substancesand mixtures.
According to CLP regulation are labeled substances and mixtures usin warning signsof danger. Hazard warningsymbol is a graphical composition that includes asymbol or other graphical elements, such as a border,background pattern or color that is intendedto convey specific informationabout the hazard. The label mustcontain one or more of the hazard warning symbolsto convey specific informationabout the hazard. The followingtable provides an overview of the hazard symbols.
